Lost my notebook

I inexplicably lost my workout log. I never take it out of my bag and it is six months worth of workouts. Argh!

It is time to put everything on Google (they know everything anyway).

Finally, an update

Well, I have been much more faithful to my schedule since my last post. Three times a week.

I haven't always meet with my trainer for various reasons but still make it into the gym. I always have a much harder workout with her than on my own. I need to work on improving that.

So I have been in this for about eight weeks now. Certainly not a full eight weeks but I have seen some benefits. I have improved on the level of weights on most machines (but haven't kept good track....one MORE thing I need to improve). On the plus side, I've gained a solid five pounds. I think my goal will be about another 25!

Weak week

It was a bad week for me.  I went a full 7(!) days without going to the gym.

I had an appt with Meghan tonight but she had to cancel.  She had set up 3 flexible workouts for me.  I did the arms....but didn't do the full 8 exercises.  I think it is a mix of things.  I'm still not comfortable with every exercise so I tend to do the ones I remember well.

I decided to see if Meghan can adjust our workouts to maximize the number of machines/etc that we use.  Once I get more comfortable, I should be good to go.

Friday evening isn't busy

Friday is a great time apparently. The gym had the least amount of people I had seen since I joined.

I did another old workout. Shoulders, chest and something else. I also did the ab deal where you kind of rest on your forearms. While off the ground, you bring your legs up parallel to the floor. Before, I would just bring my knees up but my arms would get tired first. This time, I brought my legs up and managed 21 and 11. It felt much more intense so I will keep doing it that way. I want great abs!

I had to cancel my Thursday appt with Meghan because of work. We haven't figured out a time but I hope I can meet with her this weekend. She wanted to discuss workout plans going forward. I still need help 'learning' all the machines. I may keep a list of machines that I know and ones I need to learn.

Anyway, it was a good week. I went three times.

Crash

I repeated another workout (shoulders/chest) on Saturday. It was my first time by myself on the weekend. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. I think I like the weekends. Managed to gain either weight or reps on each machine. I must have written (or done something) wrong on one machine. My weight increase about 30%.

I did the leg lift thing again. It really starts out easy then my whole body gets tired. I did 30 and 13.

As I was leaving, poor kid next to my apparently can't pull out of a parking space and hit some other dude. It was freezing cold and one of them just had on shorts as they were exchanging insurance info. Sucks. He dented a beater car. I would have left it dented. (I guess that comes from living in Chicago).

Full body

Well, I wasn't as sore as I thought I would be after Tuesday's workout.

Went in today to work out with Meghan.  She had me do a full body workout.  It was rough.  Legs (I thought I'd pass out), shoulders, arms and chest.

I've learned that my left-upper body is WEAK compared to my right.  I need to ask her how to even things out.  I figured it was because I carried a computer bag w/ two notebooks for about a year while traveling.  

Goals from here on out:  going at THREE times a week.  Once on the weekend and twice during the work week.

Late

I haven't been posting as much as I wanted....this is a recap.

I unfortunately only have gone twice by myself. Was a bit nervous on the new machines...but found a trainer to make sure I was doing thing correctly.

Will update tomorrow....I did go into day and did shoulders and chest. Wow, I will be sore tomorrow.

2nd session

Had my second session w/ meghan on Thursday. That hour went by a lot faster than the first one.

We did shoulders, chest, triceps and hamstrings. I definitely have lots of room for improvement. The only part that hurt was the hamstring exercise on my bad leg.

I woke up the next day not being that sore....but for some reason, I was when I woke up today.

Anyway, meghan just emailed me telling me she will give me something to do for Sunday.

Finally recovering

I finally got a workout routine from Meghan via email. She sent it late yesterday. Enough and excuse for me not to go in. Instead, I managed to do about 15 minutes on the elliptical.

Tomorrow(today) I'll do the flex exercises.
